Red Shield Safes have a 5 year structural warranty covering manufacturing defects and
workmanship and a 12 month warranty on moving and electronic parts. This warranty does not cover abuse, misuse, improper use or installation, damage, theft, loss of goods, corrosion or fair wear and tear.
All warranty claims must be approved by Red Shield or their distributors
Changing the Default Code
There are 3 methods for these safes, as the keypads are slightly different between models:
If you have a Keypad that looks like this:
Change user codes: (The factory setting code is 159#)
Method 1:
1. Open the safe door and keep open until the new code has been set and tested
2. Enter user code (or Factory if unchanged) and press # key to confirm
3. The buzzer should beep once and green LED light up and safe unlock
3. Then press the * key and the yellow LED will light up
2. Enter a 1-8 digit code and press # to confirm, the buzzer beeps once; Enter your codes again and press # to confirm
3. If the buzzer beeps twice and the yellow LED flashes twice, it means your code is set successfully
4. Test this code works correctly a few times prior to closing the door
Method 2:
1. Open the safe door and keep open until the new code has been set and tested
2. Enter your code again followed by the # key, once the light goes green, push the * key and that yellow LED lights up
3. Enter a 1 to 8 digit code and press # to confirm, the buzzer should beep twice and the yellow LED light up twice to confirm it has been accepted
4. If the buzzer beeps 4 times it has not been accepted, repeat steps 2 and 3
5. Test this code works correctly a few times prior to closing the door
If you have a Keypad that looks like this:
Change user codes: (The factory setting code is 1,2,3,4,5,6 #)
Changing the digital code:
1. Open the safe door and leave open and unlocked until finished and code has been tested
2. Enter your old (or factory) code followed by the # key, then push * and you will see a yellow light, you have 8 seconds to enter a new 4 to 8 digit code and press * to confirm, then immediately re-enter your code again within 8 seconds and press * again to confirm it
3. The buzzer should beep 3 times to confirm it has been accepted
4. If the buzzer beeps 4 times it has not been accepted, repeat steps 2 and 3
5. Test this code works correctly a few times prior to closing the door
6. If you are unable to change the code check the battery is not flat, then contact your dealer
LOST KEYS
Red Shield has replacement keys available. To request a replacement key please contact your local dealer in person.
All of the following must be presented:
- Safe receipt
- A photo of the safe barcode and serial no (located on the front of the safe)
- A copy for your firearms licence
- A JP Certified Stat Dec stating you are the owner of the safe
Replacement keys can take 4-12 weeks
